SOLO CHALLENGE SERIES

All the fun of a group event, in an individual oriented format.

The Solo Cycling Challenge format allows for individual riders to participate in an  outdoor “event”, in a responsible way. The idea is to use loops that are safe, in close range of Ames, and allow everyone to be part of a collective activity, without the current health risks of pack / group riding.

The format/rules are simple:
  • This is NOT a group ride
  • This is NOT a mass start
  • Show up anytime during the event hours to be part of any special ride offers/primes/giveaways
  • No close proximity riding - stay AT LEAST 5 bike lengths away from any riders you happen to encounter
  • DO announce if you need to pass someone and take the time to use AS MUCH of the road as possible.  This is NOT a race. On a longer course this shouldn’t really even be a concern, but things happen.
  • Check in and let us know you are on the course.  There will be a self sign in with hand sanitizer.
  • Be prepared - This is self supported although we will have a ride HQ at ACC with things to assist.
  • STRAVA will be used to tally up laps & segments for fun.  Segments will be the main theme of each Challenge.
  • Be cool & respect other riders and traffic.
  • If you are parking at / near the campus, give other cars 2 parking spaces.
